Praise vs Worship. Envy vs Complacency.

This post has been in draft status since JANUARY. *sigh* Think about the title though for a bit. What is praise to you? Does it equal worship? Are the terms interchangeable? Do you think of them only in reference to God?

Now, envy vs complacency. This is my personal struggle. At what point is the 'safe place' of being? Like, at what point do get to Envy if you see somebody do something or being good at something that You want to be good at? And at what point do you throw in the towel and say 'forget it, I'm just not good at this'? Should you ever? How long do you keep going? Is it ever ok to just...BE OK with whatever point you're at in life? And how do you not get to being Complacent or Lazy or Indifferent?

Just a few thoughts.

That Awkward Moment When....(SDA edition)

So. Picture me sitting at my little computer at work trying to catch up on charting. A guy comes up to me inquiring about my pt because he wants to know the height and weight (which is in the chart/on the bed by the way but we won't go there) to make a brace. Cool. I look it up and give him the info. Homeboy out of the blue asks me if I'm Adventist. He was already lingering a little closely mind you. lol. Umm...yes? He responds in praises and worship in jubilee because I wasn't 'dolled up and blinged out' (or something to that extent).

OH. OK.

Alright, to Some extent that's....nice  I guess. Being 'different' and somewhat 'set apart'. Or Whatever. But seeing that I was recognized as an Adventist by a fellow Adventist kinda defeats the purpose, no? And I'm sorry but I don't believe that outward appearance was the sentiment behind 1 Peter 2:9 . BROWSE through that chapter and see what you think. Come to think about it, I learned that verse in elementary school and it was used to defend Why why shouldn't wear makeup, jewelry, etc...but that verse isn't an entire SENTENCE. -__- We gotta do better. What testimony is it Really to see someone without makeup and jewelry? Kinda feels like something that makes you proud to be a part of some type of elitist group with no real goals. Cause if That is a high point for us? I don't know...

Point is. We have to do better. Salvation is the game here, not eye shadow and earrings debates.

* OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD SIGH* You know those people that get on your Last Nerve in every imaginable sense of the word but somehow you still tolerate their existence?! I have one of those. And Somehow these same people have some kind of spidey sense that detects this Flaw in your character and capitalizes on it??!! What the Deuce??!! And what am I supposed to do about it!! I mean you can get upset, scream, cry, yell, whatever and you just end up in the same place; and they have the upper hand. At least it seems that way. #Shrug I dunno. Then you hear or see this saying talm bout "if someone can make you upset they have power over you."  Chile PLEASE. *eye roll* But I Do know after the year I had in 2010??! There are limits dang it!! I will Never willingly place myself in the position to experience certain emotions ever again.
Hmph. I need some Jesus. Lemme go be productive on this Sabbath night cause Lord knows (CLEARLY) that I don't know what to do. SMH.
